New Living Stones Site

I have been really busy the last few weeks working on our new Living Stones website. There are so many details to get everything moved over successfully. It's been fun and tiring but I LOVE the new look. Kevin Smith did the basic template and then I've added most of the pages and worked on the layout of the frontpage, etc. Here's a pic of the frontpage.

Friday Night Thoughts

I just got in from about 50 minutes worth of walking at about 10:30 p.m. It's been really hot the last few days and is supposed to continue, but tonight is a cool, refreshing night. Walking is always a good time to think as I walk and listen (to God and my iPod). So, as everyone is now fast asleep in my house, here are some thoughts rolling around in my brain . . . . . some of them serious and some just a wrap-up of the week.

  • I can't get one thought out of my head from last night's cell lesson. Quoting from the lesson, “We don’t become like Jesus by focusing our life upon Jesus; we become like Jesus by focusing our life upon what Jesus focused His life upon." The lesson went on to explain what Jesus focused his life on - the Father. Jesus' business was to do the business of the Father. As we talked, we realized that a shift needs to take place in our perspective - we don't need to "do what Jesus did." Rather, we should focus our life on the Father and by doing so we will naturally do what Jesus would do. Chew on that awhile . . .
  • I've been working for the last couple of days (and tonight) on the new Living Stones website that will go "live" on July 1. It's been a lot of work but it's got a new, fresh, exciting design and some cool features including a webstore!
  • Sunday is Father's Day. I love my girls at this stage of life. They are so excited about what they got me and are doing everything in their power to keep it a secret (although I already know). Actually, I got my BIG gift for Father's Day and birthday a few weeks back when I got a new Canon digital camera - the PowerShot S3. I said something about Father's Day the other day and my gift - Samara immediately says, "Dad, don't look under the bed!" They were whispering in the kitchen at the table tonight so I knew I'd better walk right back out.On Father's Day evening, we're meeting my parents and my sister's family inPlymouth to celebrate Father's Day with my Dad & Mom. We're also celebrating the fact that Dad paid off the farm a few months back. So who pays?? It's a farm paying off party that he has called and yet it's Father's Day. DUTCH? LOL
  • Today was Bob Barker's last day on the Price is Right. Who cares may you ask? Charlene loves the Price is Right. Enough said.
  • Yesterday at the church, we closed the office at 1 p.m. and had a good old-fashioned cookout. It was really a lot of fun. We went out to the shade trees by the play ground, cooked hot dogs & hamburgers, and played that bean bag toss game for the next two and half hours. It was great for those of us who usually pass each other by copier or on the way to or from the restroom to actually kick back and have some fun! Ask Pastor Dick & Susie who won - them or JC and me!
  • Selah & Samara got their report cards in the mail today - they both did great!
