The Shack or NOT the Shack, that is the question
I have talked to various people as to whether or not they like the best selling book, THE SHACK. I'm not sure and wonder what some of the rest of you think.
I'm not into "bashing the author" so don't leave comments with that tenor or I'll just delete them. But I would love your honest thoughts. Comments away . . .

Ridiculously Random Thoughts
It's Sunday night and lots of thoughts . . . .
- What about that earthquake on Friday??? Selah had a dream about an earthquake the same night that it happened. Is my kid prophetic??
- This weather is incredible. If I could move somewhere where this is as cold as it gets in the winter, I would be in HEAVEN!
- It was good to be back in Gary leading worship today at Living Stone s – Gary. That's still my favorite sound system to lead worship with – the monitor system is great. You can hear everything so clearly.
- I ordered my Ultimate Ears custom monitors last week. It should be a couple of weeks before they're made but I can't wait!!
- I started Twittering. Twittering is a very short form of blogging answering the question, "What are you doing now."
- Did I say how much I love this weather?
- I really want to see Expelled.
- Charlene's Dell computer died. Well, I'm not sure if it's completely dead but it's not looking pretty. I'm going to take it to the office tomorrow and try to at least get our MS Money data file off of the hard drive. The girl needs to get a Mac!
- Mother's Day is coming. Any good ideas for the girls and I to get Charlene? Last year we got her a nice photo book from Apple that we created. Looking for something original . . .
- Looked at the south side of the house today, and we're definitely do for a major paint job on the exterior. Anyone interested in a fun experience painting with me??
- I wonder if the violent weekend in Chicago has anything to do with the full moon? What a great place for the next great revival. John just did an amazing post about the moon.

My Daughter on Drums
My oldest daughter, Selah is taking drums from Mr. Josh in our Living Stones School of Worship Arts. She came home from drums Thursday night and showed me the following she had written on paper. This wasn’t part of her assignment for her class and wasn’t provoked or encouraged by Mr. Josh or myself. Josh & I were both blown away. This is why we’re doing the School of Worship Arts – to impart a heart for worship to the next generation. I get the added blessing of having my daughter “get it.” So here goes in the words of an eight-year old. I haven’t corrected any grammar or spelling so it’s in raw eight-year old form.I love drums so much because it is cool. Drums is about learning about worshiping God and it’s also about that God loves us worshiping him. We are made to love worship and I hope you do. Next about drums is that to do your best at everything you do at school home and the most thing is worship God. And don’t wory about High School stuff because God is awesome. God died for you because to wash your sins away and he loved you so much that he whants us to worship him for that. Now we are going to talk about God. God is so lovely because he loves you just the way you are and I love him too. The End. – Selah

It’s Been Awhile
Well, it has been awhile since I’ve sat down and written an actual post. Quite frankly, it’s not that there’s nothing to write about. The exact opposite is the case – there is SO MUCH to write about. And then at the end of the day there is so much running through my brain I can’t even process it. Today is the first day in awhile that I’ve actually had some down time for just me. I am enjoying a nice quiet lunch at Go Roma utilizing their free Wi-Fi. So I thought I would just jot down a few random thoughts about what’s been happening in life & ministry.
For the first time ever, we’ve actually formally auditioned people for the worship team. We have eight incredible people who have joined the team as as instrumentalists and singers. They’rea already being incorporated into the schedule. It’s amazing how well they are “fitting in” to the team. Great job you guys!
- Plus, we now have a rotating team of four worship leaders. It’s really awesome to see them walk further into the anointing that God has for them. I call them “my three sons.” If you’re young, you probably don’t remember that show. (I must confess that I’m really too young to remember it as well, but I do remember the reruns.)
- The reason we’ve been doing all the expanding is because we’re about to launch our first multi-site Living Stones location in Gary. Our first service (still on the Crown Point campus) was August 19 with our first official Sunday at the Genesis Center being October 21. This is very stretching yet incredibly EXCITING. This has been confirmed and reconfirmed through prophetic word after prophetic word.
- The School of Worship Arts is off and running again. We have more instructors than ever and 114 students! We are so stinkin’ excited about raising up the next generation of worshipers!
- God blessed me incredibly at the end of July by sending John to me to assist me in the worship arts area. The timing could not have been more God. Quite honestly, I don’t know what I would have done without his help in the last couple of months. God really MUST know what He is doing!!
- This next week we should be ordering all of the sound and video equipment for the new launch in Gary.
- In January, we’re starting the Living Stones School of Ministry. We have a special concentration on Worship Arts. If you’re interested, visit the Living Stones website for the details.

Is the MUSIC too loud?
I regularly read Perry Noble‘s blog. He’s a pastor or a booming church, NewSpring, in South Carolina. I love his honesty and real down-to-earth feel. Well, I could so relate to yesterday’s blog post and loved it! Loved it, loved it! I’m passing it along to all of you as well.

Jesus Said “It’s Time to Dance”
This is an incredible word for us at Living Stones at such an incredible season! The writer of this article, Julie Meyer, is an incredible worship leader. I have been to Kansas City and have heard her lead worship and have ALWAYS loved her spirit. She writes the following article that is really incredible. It is a call for us to go deeper into the heart of God and to do war as we worship. Jesus said it – “IT IS TIME TO DANCE; IT IS TIME TO WAR!”The article is rather long, but well worth the entire read . . .
