Bingo, Pastor Jon!
Revival is the personal realization that we are "un-done" and completely without hope because of the condition of our hearts sans the Lord and the working power of His Holy Spirit. True revival starts and is ongoing (maintained) as we continually are renewed by this hope, revealed supernaturally by God.
We cannot bring revival to the land, we must "be" the revival in the land! True revival is sustained in the hearts of the people to whom the revelation of the Lord and the need for Him is clearly revelated (if that's a word?). The intensity of a revival movement I believe, exists and is heightened in the individual heart and sole to which He is revealed, and to the extent that that individual has given him(her)self over to the amount of change the Lord wishes to do in their personal life.
Therefore, I believe that the Lord wants everyone to be just like His Son! Sold out, on fire, energized, constantly moving forward and upward in their faith, never backsliding, filled with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and totally in love with Him. That, is real revival! If that were the way of the land in this USA, we would all be in revival mode, and there would be no need to ask for it, as it would already exist, so yes, let's stop asking for revival and start being it!

Pastor Jon,
Awesome thoughts. I have also been thinking about this a lot! As well, friendships are easy to make but hard to keep. Marriages are easy to make but life long committment is hard to sustain. Calling is easy to recieve and hard to walk out. Salvation is easy (since we have nothing to do with it) and Sanctification is hard (since we have much to do with it. Fun to laugh and dance hard to dig, and give, and die. Truth is easy to agree on but hard to apply. Even Jesus asked for the cup to be removed in his perfect obediance. This is awesome to me and ecourages me greatly. Will the world get worse before Jesus comes back or will it get better? I think both! It all depends on what side of the fence we're on. But mostly don't you think it just comes down to true revival in us personally and daily?
Love you,
Amy

pastor jon, what are your thoughts on women leading worship? i personally have no problem with it. however, i would like to find some biblical basis for my thoughts. is there any that you know of, and what has drawn you to your conclusions? any help would be great. thanks again.

I'm like Lynne, I received this truth as presented by Pastor Ron Johnson Sr. so many years ago, and have never forgotten it. I believe this has been termed by the Christian faith "Let go, and let God." Abram learned this, and God called him friend , and even got a name change to "father of nations" before he had even one son. God is pleased with a man who puts Him first, but responds to that man when faith is engaged, just like Abraham experienced.

Thanks, Pastor. This got ahold of me a few years, and ooooh, the relief! It's good to be reminded because sometimes I think I have spiritual amnesia.

I find it interesting how much G_d has instilled music in all creation. For example, if you go to the planetarium in Chicago, there is an exhibit about a song that the sun sings. The sun continueously sings a high pitched song, it harmonizes with the song that the stars are singing and the moon has it's own song that is more like the bass believe it or not. It's absolutly astounding, it will blow your mind.

Then if you read abut Einstein's string theory, all matter is made up of tiny vibrating strings smaller than an atom. Take that to the infinate measure, what if we are in continous song. What if all of creation can be heard like music to Daddy G_d all the time? What if every breath we breath contributes to an ultimate song composed through us, his instruments/musicians combined? At one point the bible talks about our hearts being far from G_d and our worship being noise. What if that's not just when we're singing or playing instruments? What if it's when we are doing laundry or driving to work? What if it's when we make a decision to do what G_d has told us even though it's inconvienant? What if, like Lucifer, G_d created in us music that never stops?

Take this even farther. What if music has the power to create? What are we creating when we are disobedient? How about prideful? What are we creating when we are obedient? How about humble? We already know it has the power to change the atmosphere. What if ALL we are is music?

Thanks Jon....I have really enjoyed these words of wisdom on worship....I'm much afraid that many of us don't prepare for true worship as we should. I'll look forward to hearing more about the responses.
